This handmade pendant is in the shape of a hammerhead shark, adorned with a lovely piece of Emerald Valley Turquoise, mined in Nevada, USA.

There are 10 species of Hammerhead sharks, with the smallest being about 1 metre in length, to the largest being up to 6 metres. It is unknown why the shape of their head is like this; with one eye and nostril at either side of their head. They have great field of vision, however do have a blind spot in the middle, therefore must swing their head around to see where they are going!
Turquoise is porous, meaning it can absorb chemicals such as lotions, creams, and perfumes, which may cause its color to change. I recommend removing your Turquoise jewellery before applying anything that could be absorbed by the stone. Avoid wearing Turquoise in water, keep it away from extreme heat and be sure not to strike it against hard surfaces.
